SA Joint-Chairman Delighted With Quiz Success

Hednesford Town Supporters Association Joint-Chairman Scott Smith expressed his delight over the success of a quiz held at Keys Park last Saturday as the fans collective started 2013 with success.

On Saturday morning, 11 teams had confirmed entry, but by 6.30pm almost twenty teams, totalling 86 entrants filled the Chase Suite following The Pitmen’s 3-1 victory versus Chorley.

‘It was fantastic to see such a turnout for the event so close to the Christmas break, all those who attended helped to make the night a real success and raise funds for both Club and the SA.’

‘The Halfway Liners’ claimed the £70 prize money for first place, ‘Connect Five’ won £35 for second and ‘The Latecomers’ and ‘Nerds in a Van’ shared £20 for joint third.

A raffle was held to raise further funds for the SA, totalling £178 and all those involved thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary chip butties at half-time.

Smith noted that the success of the night proved the SA is in a strong position to continue its hard work throughout the season with the continued help of its members and also thanked those behind the scenes whose help meant the night ran smoothly.

‘There were several people involved whose help was invaluable in staging the night so the SA would like to thank them all heartily. I’m sure the Association and its members will take huge solace from the support given to the night as we look to continue our efforts during 2013 to help Hednesford Town improve off and on the pitch.’

The first meeting of the SA takes place this evening at Keys Park; all members are encouraged to attend with proceedings starting at 7.30pm.
