Race Night Fundraiser for HTFCSA
Hednesford Town’s Supporters Association held a hugely successful Race Night on Friday 18th November, with more than £450 having been raised on the evening.
Guests were under starters orders at 8pm in a packed Strikers Bar, the first of eight races got off to a flying start when #1 Red Devil romped home. Each race had eight runners, so everyone had a great chance to lose some money.
Happily, though no shirts were lost and everyone agreed it was a really fun evening, which ended with a pig race, appropriately won by Miss Piggy!
Principal sponsors were Dailey Poppins of Rugeley, the domestic cleaning services – they also offered a raffle prize to really clean up.
As well as thanks to all who attended from the club, special thanks went to race sponsors:
CR Danks Hardware of Chadsmoor
Marie Chaney of MGC Hypnotherapy
Steve Smith Motor Engineers
Further thanks were given for an interval buffet provided and subsidised by:
JJ Dewsbury Bakers, Hednesford – thanks to Marie Edgington, Manager and Lynne Merrett for their hard work.
Scott Smith, Chairman of the Supporters Association thanked all of the above and especially the Football Club, for the free room and General Manager, Carl Cooper for providing all of his equipment free of charge. “What started off as a “one-off” really took off,” said Carl. “With the help of RG Promotions, and DJ, Richard Garbett, I started doing charity events, including Help for Heroes and Hope for Children.”
Members of the Supporters Association given special praise for their hard work, were Steve Williams for the programme and general promotion and Ian Pitt, who never misses a chance of sponsorship or selling you raffle tickets.
