Pitmen Supporters Give Backing To Light Switch On

Now a regular on the calendar for the Hednesford Town Football Club Supporters Association, the start of December saw the annual switching on of the Hednesford Christmas Lights.

Once again, a band of HTFCSA members were in attendance to help spread the word of the organisation, the football club and also bring some Christmas cheer with some festive games for the public to try their hand at.

Scott and Paula Smith, Christine Westbury, Steve Williams, David Winfindale, Hannah Hetherington, Sue Rigby and James Webb all lent their services on the night while Colin and Glynis Woodward had spent hours packaging up HTFCSA Christmas cards to hand out.

These would prove to be a huge hit once again alongside homemade Pitmen Christmas baubles by Carol Johnson and packages of sweets thanks to the hardworking Alice Webb.

Thanks must also go to the club who handed over three Family Tickets as top prizes – all of which were won on the evening during the new Pitman Pete game which first appeared in the summer. The winners were: Zac and Mark Charlesworth, Julie and Cara Worsop and Beth Dando.

HTFCSA Chairman, Scott Smith said:

“It is always great to see Hednesford town centre so busy and we were once again pleased to attend on the night for what has become a regular event over the course of the last decade.

“Thanks to those who helped out on the night and also to all those who were interested in our work and went home learning more about the Pitmen.”

On the night just over £50 was raised while hundreds of old programmes and cards were distributed to members of the public who will hopefully attend future matches where at Keys Park.
