A Message From Our HTFCSA Chairman

To: All HTFCSA Members.

Hello all,

I hope that you have all been keeping well during the course of the last three months. In some ways it is hard to believe where that time has gone. I have been fortunate enough to still be working full-time and although working from home is now the new normal I hope that we can return to the office sooner rather than later.

During that time period I have also been thinking long and hard about my involvement with the Hednesford Town FC Supporters Association. Being one of the founder members of the HTFCSA means that I have been involved for the last 10 years – the last four being spent at a distance following my move down south. Along with now being based well outside of Hednesford and my workload having increased during the last 12-18 months I have taken the decision to stand down from my position as HTFCSA Chairman as of the upcoming AGM.

This was a decision that I haven’t taken lightly but I feel that with new owners taking over the football club the time is now right for someone else to move the HTFCSA forward – with new targets to reach and hopefully a brand-new fan base to engage with.

I have very much enjoyed my time in the hot-seat and I would like to thank all those who have served as Committee Members over the years, those who have volunteered at community and HTFCSA events and finally you, the members, for supporting our cause by simply paying your subscription fee each year.

So this means that the position of Chair will be open to those who want to stand for it at the AGM. This role sees you having to ensure that the HTFCSA abides to the constitution, chairing monthly meetings, working with Committee members to ensure that a strategy is in place for the development of the HTFCSA, having the final say on where funds are spent, delegating tasks to the Committee, attend and occasionally run social events and be the voice of supporter with both the football club and any press requests. I will say that this role gives you a great chance to develop as a person and I have certainly learnt a number of new skills while undertaking it.

I can also report that sadly Vice-Chairman Colin Woodward has also decided to stand down from his position at the AGM. Colin has been a great person to have involved with the HTFCSA – serving as first the Press Officer and then jointly as Vice-Chairman and Press Officer. I’d like to thank Colin for his support over the years.

The Vice-Chair role is in place to assist the Chair on their roles within the HTFCSA, chairing meetings in the absence of the Chair and liaising with members of the Committee.

Although, as you would expect, both roles take up some of your free time with the new owners in place at the football club this will no doubt be an exciting time to be involved and decide in which way the HTFCSA will progress in the future. If you would like to put your name forward for either of these roles then let Carol Johnson know.

In order to help achieve this, the HTFCSA needs to have a vibrant Committee in place. Committee members help shape the way in which the HTFCSA moves forward and what projects the organisation gets involved in. Please do consider putting your name forward for a place on the Committee as there are many benefits that come from being involved.

For anyone who is interested in taking on one of the roles I would be happy to speak to you further and answer any questions that you may have.

Finally, I just want to end by again thanking you for all your support and I look forward to seeing you on the terraces at Keys Park sometime soon.

Thanks,

Scott
