Supporters Association Joint-Chair Scott Smith said, “We now have sufficient ticket sales to ensure that we break even, we are therefore taking the opportunity to reduce prices to ensure that we get a bumper attendance.”

Ticket prices are now set at just £10 for SA members and £12 for non-members. This price gains you entrance to the event, a hot pork roast supper with hot and cold sides and also the chance to relive that Cup run from 15 years ago with the management, players and a special guest who has agreed to compere the evening for us.

Those who have already purchased tickets will be entitled to a refund to reflect of the price reduction, which can be collected at any of the forthcoming games or on the evening itself.

Tickets are still available for the evening and can be purchased from the SA stand in Strikers Bar before the home games against North Ferriby United, Stoke City and Marine and at Thursday’s Supporters Association meeting.

There will also be a special guest present on an evening which is looking like it will be a truly memorable one.

The club, enjoying unbridled success in the Vauxhall Conference at the time, shocked the Football League with victories against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road in the Second Round and York City at Keys Park in the Third Round before being drawn at home against Premier League giants, Middlesbrough, in Round Four.

Police advice meant the venue was swapped and an army of 6,000 fans, young and old, travelled North East to the Riverside Stadium to see their heroes feature prominently on Match of the Day, taking the lead through a Joe O’Connor strike, before gallantly losing 3-2.

The vast majority of the squad, including former backroom staff, are expected to attend the event and Hednesford Town fans from around the area are invited to take part in what will be a misty-eyed reminisce of the greatest day the Club has ever seen.

Tickets for the celebration, due to be held at Keys Park on Saturday 18th Ferbruary 7.30pm, are £12 for SA Members and £14 for non-SA Members and can be purchased at the Supporters AGM on Thursday night from 7.30pm.

Supporters will also be able to purchase tickets in Strikers Bar before the home fixtures against Northwich Victoria, North Ferriby United and Marine.

The price includes entry to the event, a hot pork buffet and the chance to spend an evening sharing in the nostalgia of 1996/97 alongside fellow supporters and The Pitmen’s most famous team with guest speakers, photo albums and a re-run of the highlights of every goal during the campaign.

Those current members who have yet to re-join for 2012 will be able to sign up and discuss what the Association’s second year in existence will bring.

Smith stressed how important it is that members new and current lend their support to the Association.

‘We have made real strides during our first year but now is the time when we need the fans of Hednesford Town to join so that we have the funds to continue the hard work we have done to improve the football club in any way we can. Anyone who has an interest in The Pitmen is welcome to talk to us and find out what we have planned.’

SA committee members will be in the Chase Suite from 1pm to collect membership forms and discuss with fans their plans moving into 2012. Any member who joins on Saturday will guarantee first refusal on a ticket for the SA Middlesbrough Commemoration Night in February 2012.

Then on the night the HTFCSA Christmas Race Night starts at 7.30pm with several races scheduled with prizes for the winning horses including meat vouchers at Clive Lilley Butchers, Pye Green, membership offers at Nuffield Health Fitness Centre, Hednesford and free pet food at Penparc Pet Supplies, Longford. Entry is free for members and £3 for non members.

Smith is positive the day can be a success and set the Association up for the new year ahead.
