The mighty Hednesford town 4 The Drunken Brewers 1
It was a lovely balmy evening ,not a breath of wind and a superb playing surface so the scene was set for a cracking game and we were not to be disappointed.
They included several first teamers including their record half million pound forward signing,Boyce and they came at us like a whirlwind and for a while I thought my prediction of a four one win was going to be well wide of the mark.
However we withstood everything they had to offer and gradually got into the game and then applied the killer touch when after missing two great chances Graham found himself with only the keeper to beat and placed a low shot wide of the keeper into the net.
This was closely followed by a far post looping header from Butlin and from this point our class really began to tell and it was just a case of how many.
The second half was all ours and after several misses we got a third again from Graham.
At this point we were coasting tho we did allow them to get one back towards the end.
Just to show there was no hard feelings Glover netted a fourth with a fierce shot and we were home and dried.
So the quadruple is on and after this performance I can't see us being beaten again we were just brilliant.

Man of the Match Jordan Graham
Officials good
There was one sad note.
Brian White who has stood with us on the half way line Wimbo side for many years and was at Saturday's match against Barwell sadly passed away at midday today.
Brian hailed from Brownhills.
I am sure all our thoughts are with his family on this sad occasion .

There's something about this cup that is bringing out the very best in the players. The hardy souls that braved the keys park chill were treated to a tremendous team effort and a well deserved scoreline. Some real sharpness to the passing too, similar to the Solihull away game.

I'll plump for Tom for MOTM for he was all action (when he is never), even when he filled in at right back. Other standout players for me were Charlie and Callam, both reading the game with touches of class. Callam with a great block on the goal line.

Joey had a great 60 minutes too, his work rate is exceptional and he was a handful for their defence in the first half. Clever header for his goal.

Thanks as ever Dan...

After their bright opening Burton descended into a sorry mess, didn't they! - methinks the guy who was(n't) marking Butlin for his goal might have some explaining to do this morning...

That spell on the bench has done Graham the world of good...

Some classic (and legitimate!) Campion challenges in the first half.... :)

A lot of noise from a small (crows) - I hope someone tells prospective house purchasers it can get noisy on Tuesday nights....

:P

Indeed. Sweet. Beat them even more easily than the Villa did.

And Fozzie was at the Pirelli the night our youth team beat them in a youth competition (circa early 2007) and will recall how much I like that nice Mr Clough. Makes it all the sweeter

 :-D

I'm beginning to think that "sheriff" is one of those bots the Russians are using to try to destabilise the West and sow discontent with fake news and opinion.

There was some speculation as to who scored the 3rd goal for the Pitmen .. but skipper Tom Thorley has confirmed that Jordan Graham had the last touch .. his goal!
