Two games off in our league so far (and plenty more in the NPL)

I've got a bit of a bee in my bonnet about the seemingly changing attitudes towards pitches deemed to be too waterlogged to play on. Solihull are getting a fair amount of stick over their game being called off today. The pictures posted on the Barrow Twitter show muddy touchline, but a well grassed seemingly dry playing area. It wasnt long ago we were seeking games being played at the likes of strangers and workington on surfaces with hardly a blade of grass on.
Football is a winter sport and if it is to continue to be so then a change of attitude or the mandating of artificial surfaces is required.
I'm not sure why our pitch inspection today was so protracted.
If the fa is going to expand leagues to 24 clubs at step 3 then it will become farcical.
Rant over!

Can't be destroying soles, unless that's something to do with climate change

We had a deluge last night and more promised this afternoon. I think we will all have to find something else to do tonight.

I’ll call in the ground shortly and have a look not much rain overnight but would have to be called off reasonably early 3pm at the latest

It has started raining steadily and is due to persist for a few hours so we have no chance.
If this carries on then Saturday will be in doubt as Alvechurch have had issues with their pitch this season

Lee's alerted me to this which happened last night

We certainly don't want to incur the wrath of PSFC by something similar happening tonight
