Would be nice to have some clarification from the club on this.

Indeed. And/but if it's true, the day we guarantee any player a place in the starting eleven is a sad day.

With one exception in our current squad (clue, he wears no 1), there isn't a single player to whom I would make that guarantee, since form is always temporary

Meanwhile Dodd's departure gives the opportunity today to someone who has been a fringe player/occasional starter to step up and make that place his own, for a game or three at least

Who ?
We had that bit of sparkle in our side but we have now become an average team again
We will obviously play Green on the wing now and apart from one nothing up front

I was anticipating a left footed defender, a strong tackling midfielder and a centre forward perhaps it's me.

You're right jackiemaund, let's hope eh.

I was thinking about tonight's game that we needed to beef up central midfield and Smith would be coming in. Looked alright in pre season to me. What do I know. Presumably the two lads won't be registered in time now.

Following sheriff's example on another thread, here's my retained list for Saturday:

James Wren (GK)
Jose Veiga (GK/coach)

Matt Martin (haven't seen him play a competitive game yet so too early to turf him out)
Tyler Lyttle
Joe Ballinger (except that he's gone missing from the squad for recent games)
Sam Oji
Jimmy Mutton
Stephen Palmer (only seen him play a few minutes yet so too early to turf him out)

Tom Thorley (but take the armband off him)
Chekaine Steele (haven't seen him play a competitive game yet so too early to turf him out)
Danny Glover (subject to not being isolated up front)

Luke Rodgers (subject to not being isolated up front)

Desean Martin (out on loan - dual registration - I'd bring him back as he has at least shown he can score from outside the box, which no-one else seems to be able to do))

So that's 13 then.

Just seven quality new signings needed then.

We missed a trick in not bringing Jay Denny back as captain and midfield hard man. I had been suggesting this for about 12 months....

Two new names

I guess Smith has worked with them before at Telford and knows their qualities. Welcome to both.

Two much needed midfielders- that's where our core weakness has been this season.

Let's hope they will battle, hold on to the ball and prove capable of that holding/linking role that had been lacking so far.

Welcome to Keys Park!

Joe Fitzpatrick has been described by Telford fans as "decent on the ball", "neat and tidy with the ball" but also "immobile", and a Boston fan has said that he was "nothing special" when he played for them.

What the last para doesn't say (albeit there is, as I write, a missing word to which I've alerted those concerned) is that Tayls is leaving with the rest of the management/coaching team.

So we'll assume (although we know what assuming does) that he stays...

If he's anything like Clemmo and Ossie, he'll do.

Meanwhile an interesting comment further down that article (from April) that "Telford are hoping to develop a stronger link with Wolves" - hmmm, indeed....

Kris's tweet
Don't think Rob and Larry like me as it's the 2nd time they've got rid of me. Good luck @Hednesford_Town does anyone need a midfielder
Tom, Kris and Green were only players with any quality at Boston getting rid of Kris it's got to be personal.

Disgraceful, scandalous. They put Four men out of work this week with their sly tricks.

As I said, we all know what assuming does...

a) It paves the way for Wynna to come back as coach;

b) Tayls will have to go and play for Chasetown. He's done the rest....
