I'll start the thread in good time....

NPL have tweeted fixtures will be out on July 13th.

Anyone want to bet on what date in January we're scheduled at Buxton?

At least having a artificial surface should mean that their fixtures will go ahead unless they get three feet of snow

Non-League Day is 7 October. That usually means we have an away game that day...

Who knew that clubs get to tell the League when they do, or don't, play their local rivals....

It's a non-story. Plenty of "suggest" and "asked" and "request", plus a bit of "Though the games could still take place on those dates [Boxing Day/Easter Monday]..."

Every club has the opportunity to put forward its "wish list" as far as fixtures are concerned, and the League will do its best to accommodate what it can, eg. perhaps Whitby would like to be at home whenever Middlesbrough are away, in an ideal world.

There's as much chance of Halesowen getting their way as there is of us getting ours, as far as I can see. Still, let's not stop them having a good whinge if they want...

It filled the back page for the Halesowen News and the Stourbridge News though. Not easy, I guess, during the cricket season...

Stourbridge start on Sunday August 13. I'm sure there's a reason (cricket-related, maybe...?)

First observations ,it appears the Pics have done rather well out of this.
For us having them at home on Easter Monday we might just has well play them on the staurday before Christmas the gate would be the same.
Mid weekers clash with full time league competitions and with us back to Tuesdays that's fewer thru the turnstiles.
Thank goodness for the Integro cup it does at least add some more mid weekers on better dates, provided of course we make some progress.
I fancy Stourbridge to walk it this season, not playing on a Tuesday is a big plus and could easily tip the scales in their favour.

It's strange to set a free day for the league cup semi-finals when only four clubs can play in them, but I guess it gives a spare date for clubs to catch up on postponements if the weather is bad.

We already have a match on the Saturday before Christmas, unless you are thinking of a double header?

What date is that Lee? (forgive me, I'm tired...)

Ah, answered my own question... March 10th...

Of course we have a fixture just before Christmas I'm just trying to point out that whenever we play them they don't bring anybody so why play them on easter Monday ?

The obvious bonus is that we are at home to Strangers on New Year's Day. Weather permitting this should give us a very big (crows) .

Clubs can't play at home n Boxing Day and New Years Day so we've done quite well out of this. A lot of people are on holiday in August so gates will be a little down during this period.

Good to see a sizeable portion of our derbies taking place on Saturdays. this wasn't the case last season.

This didn't happen last season, but it did the two seasons previously. In practice the LC semi-finals were not played on that date (they were played in midweek) and the date was filled with re-arranged games. It proved very handy for Stour. We travelled to Blyth the first time, and Workington the second!

Fixtures do seem a little more evenly spread than last year (remember October?) but the reality is that some midweek fixtures clash with potential cup replay dates so expect everything to be up in the air quite quickly.

We do, at least, have the advantage that when our games are scheduled for 3pm on Saturdays we know what, weather-permitting, they'll take place at 3pm on Saturdays.

Unlike folks who choose to spend far more watching their football...

The following early season fixtures could potentially be affected by FA Cup and/or FA Trophy progression/replays for either ourselves or our opponents:

Mon 4 Sept - Stourbridge away (FAC1QR)
Tue 19 Sept - Nantwich home (FAC2QR)
Sat 30 Sept - Ashton away (FAC3Q)
Tue 3 Oct - Matlock home (FAC3QR)
Sat 14 Oct - Workington home (FAC4Q)
Tue 31 Oct - Grantham home (FAT1QR)

Belatedly just got around to noticing we're at home to Witton Albion

We'll see what the club/SA can come up with to take advantage thereof....

It only dawned on me this morning (OK, I'm slow   ) that our game at Stourbridge next Monday clashes directly with terrestrial tv coverage of England's exciting clash with Slovakia

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/sco ... 2017-09-04

Expect that to knock 2-4 off the (crows)
