Specially arranged just for our visitor from the South West (though he may yet need his wellies for Saturday...)

It must be close to that time of year when we call up Marv Robinson and Francino for a game..

Another defeat and more frustration. I think we did enough to warrant a draw despite gifting Buxton both of their goals with schoolboy errors. I’m not going to question the commitment but clearly concentration is an issue.
Buxton looked lively in attack and tormented our back four, but Buxton were no great shakes at the back and we snatched at the many chances we had and loose balls didn’t fall our way.
Lawrie had a decent game as did Dwyer but other than that we lacked pace, guile and a cutting edge. Glover added an extra dimension when he came on and was instrumental in our attempts to gain a point.
The midfield struggled at times and the defence was ragged again.

The main talking point was obviously the sending off. I didn’t have a clear view, but then nor did the officials so how Bailey was singled out is beyond me. His protestations convinced me that he was blameless but hopefully the video will set the record straight. The ne thing is for certain is that aBuxtonplayerthrew himself theatrically to the floor (one of many on. The night)
Can’t wait for the season to end. I’ve had my fill of cheating players , gullible officials and Im sure Rob has too.

Here’s to more of the same on Saturday

Agreed Perton, I've seen us in the last two games have so much possession but nothing at the end of it.
Even though we can claim a foul on Wren for their first goal and what looked like a clear offside for their second we had chances after the offences to clear or block the ball but didn't.
I think I saw Ben push their player which inevitably ended with him dropping to the floor for the red card. We succumbed to the gamesmanship of the opponents once again but Ben gave the referee a decision to make when he didn't have to.

There was plenty of pushing and barging going on, but I guess once a player goes to the floor it draws attention to the whole situation. I’ve lost count of the number of red cards this season. I assume that somebody will have to play out of position when the suspension comes through.

Some concern on the terraces last night regarding a managerial vacancy at a club up the road...

I’m hoping our owner is thinking about next season already and sitting down with Rob to sort things out.

The players looked tired last night, sloppy possession and stabbing at balls. All indicative of a knackered worn out small squad. Need a new owner soon who is willing to invest in the future, build a bigger squad and be more focused on moving the club forward.

Their keeper had a lot to do with the sending off by the way he dived and writhed around.
I've seen some dire refs in my time but that guy took the biscuit.
As for his understanding of the rules 're throw ins .. 0/10

Buxton's no5 was a disgrace at the end, grabs Glover round the neck for falling on the keeper then collapses to the ground like he's been punched in the head. Can see why Ben was so angry with that.

I'm afraid we looked like the team that played two days ago though.

I didn't realise their no9 was Ant Wilson, gave our defence real problems again as he did in his time at North Ferriby.

You can say that the number 5 was a disgrace, but I would say clever. He feigned a facial injury knowing that he would not be punished for doing so whilst having a good chance of getting an opponent into trouble. YesBen shoved him, but there was plenty going on. This guy chose to make a meal of it and the ref bought it.
It’s been a season of conning officials and we’ve been on the receiving end most of the time.
