After yesterday's debacle I think everybody will be up for this.
I forecast a 3-2 win onwards and upwards!

Having proofed the Manager's notes for the programme - Rob has certainly spoken his mind!

We may have more pressing problems in defence and midfield

My condolences too S, as we keep reminding ourselves some things are even more important than football

Men against boys, Wren excluded.

Player of the Year ballots are going to look like the ones that got Blatter and Mugabe re-elected.

It’s clear there is a major rebuild going on, it’s going to take a while to get some players in who are not on loan or short contracts. That was the risk with Neil’s departure happening when it did.

Heavens help us if we lose James Wren for any reason at the moment, he is singly handedly (!) preventing us getting beaten by cricket scores.

Please don’t slag off individual players though, more dents to their reducing confidence is the last thing they need.

Keep the faith and stick with the team, UTP.

Superb showing by James Wren, Glover worked hard but was isolated. As for the rest - too slow, too lightweight, no composure on the ball and no energy.
We have a lot of young lads, some on loan , who simply aren't up to this level. Rob has his work cut out, but signing Conf North players who aren't able to get into the 16 of their parent club isn't the way ahead. If I was Rob, I'd be on the phone to Liam MacDonald asking after Maye, Flanagan etc. We need guys experienced at this level . The likes of Bullock, Steele, Levington aren't going to work out for us.

Any more of this and we will be in danger of slipping into the bottom three. Have no expectations for Saturday, but Matlock is a huge fixture next week.

Downhearted tonight as we are no better than we were under Tooth, but people have got what they wanted. Just hope Rob doesn't lose his enthusiasm as this is a bigger test than perhaps he expected.

I'll also add that Alty were an excellent side and will be in the top three with Stour and Shaw Lane at the end of the season.

What a horror show.

No communication, no tactics, no passing, inept from defence through to attack. We should let Wren go to a better club as we are harming his development by placing him in a team of cowards.

Get behind the players and support them? How can we when they are so weak and clearly not putting in effort. Please tell me if anyone saw any different last night?

The main source of the problem? Rob smith. He has clearly already lost the dressing room, shipped out poor players and replaced them with worse ones. Living on past, glories and taking our support for granted. The last three years he has been fighting the bottom end of the table, a losing mentality has been developed with a focus on not losing rather than a desire to win. We should show him the same loyalty they showed us three years ago and kick them to the curb. Failure to do so will see keys park like a ghost town with the crowd being half what it was last night.

Season over by late September.

5-0 and 3-0 are cricket scores

Sorry, but it had to be said

;) :-D

I'm wondering if Steele has done a runner a la Lewis Wright, having been dropped to the bench on Saturday (I didn't see him at Mickleover, certainly not in the half-time subs warm-up) and left out of the squad altogether last night.

The one crumb of comfort for those with dual loyalties is/was that another club which thinks it is the "pride of Staffordshire" got gubbed at the Pirelli

The current fiasco is what happens when a club has a high turnover of managers. The pattern has been the same for the past three seasons - a vicious cycle of underachievement.

The equation at the moment is simple:
Hednesford Town - James Wren = Relegation.

How long do you have to keep the faith for? Is there a time frame? This is a statement that seems to be thrown up everytime, but the fact is this club is in a real mess and has been for a few years now! Everytime a quick fix is tried (and unsurprisingly doesn't work), the next quick fix is applied...and that doesn't work either! It is about time the owners of this club spoke out on what their ambitions are for this club and what are they are trying to do about it because it is not apparent at all and quite frankly my faith in the club as a whole is waning fast! I'll support the club as always but paying money week in week out to watch games that we feel we are going to lose and also not play any decent football is not very appealing! I have been trying to get my son interested in watching and supporting the Pitmen over the last few years but find it an uphill struggle with the constant management & player changes and also the drab football being played! These people are the future of the club but how are we supposed to explain the mess that the club is in nowadays?
