Good article in NLP today about what some clubs are doing for non league day next Saturday (love the cooked brekkie offering at Boldmere St Michaels!).

Wonder what we are doing to encourage more folk through the stiles at Keys Park on Saturday?

Zilch!

I've not seen the NLP paper yet but if there's a cooked brekkie on offer at Boldmere I'm going there instead!

For £13 you get a cooked breakfast and a seat on the coach to Stourport.
The choice is yours.

West Didsbury & Chorlton FC (my local outfit) have a bizarre offer to boost the gate on Saturday. Two quid off if you bring a dog, free dog treats and "stroking" (I think they mean for the dog).... Not sure the "floating football supporter with a dog" demographic can be that big, can it?

They've got a poster and everything:

:-D

Meanwhile we still await news of what, if anything, we're doing. Not much time left to persuade fans of local League clubs to change their plans and get to Keys Park, is there...

All these clubs doing pay what you want, kids free entry, free food and drinks, programmes, etc.

We are missing a right trick to get a bumper gate and a few more regular fans too :(

It's only a tenner in at Notts County v FGR on Saturday!

What chance have local non-league clubs if even the league clubs are reducing prices!

The thing that bugs me is regardless of how much is charged, it’s the publicity and goodwill we are missing out on when other clubs are (rightly) taking the opportunity to promote themselves within their community.

It only takes a little bit of effort sometimes to gain a lot......

Radio WM are based at the WMG for the number 9 derby, with coverage also of Pics and Moors (and Walsall) - seems (until or unless Daz Hale corrects me) that we're not being featured this time....

No we're not. Daz has asked me to phone in between 5-6pm to tell the world how it was, but that's not going to bring any extra people through the gate is it...

:(

Despite a miserable day, my local club (West Didsbury and Chorlton, playing in the North West Counties League) had a pretty good day. Crowds are generally 150-250 but they got 353 yesterday, including 30 dogs. Dog show at half time. Sky Sports were down there as well. And they won 4-2.

The opposition had a midfielder in goal as the keeper was late!

Next up for WD&C .... West Auckland in the Vase.
