Let's hope we get the same team that showed up for Nantwich and Ashton tonight rather than the team that showed up for Mickleover and Altrincham. Let's hope we can turn a corner and push on. Up the pitmen!

Whilst the performance was alot better against Ashton, based on previous game at Matlock we will have to improve further to get a positive result tonight.

Probably the only thing to say about the first half is to forget it.
Frankly the ball spent so much time in the air it had snow on it and both sides were to blame.
However something must have been said in the half time team talk has right from the start we started to play the ball on the deck which gradually led to us gaining control of the match.
The question being asked was would this result in us taking the lead and it was quickly answered when from a Bailey throw in Mbunga fired in a rising shot which hit the roof of the net.
Mbunga then proceeded to miss an open goal when from a far post cross with the goal at his mercy he somehow managed to head away from the goal instead of into it.
However he quickly made amends when scoring from close in following a corner.
Matlock posed little threat apart from a rasping shot which hit a post.
They were a poor side who were beaten by a half decent second half Hednesford performance.
Man of the match must be Mbunga who could,no should have had a hat trick.
The referee was one of the better ones we have seen at KP for sometime.
So six points from the last two matches and we can look forward to Saturday's encounter with Witton with some confidence.

A dreadful first half, but credit to the lads (especially Tom and Danny who worked tirelessly) who stepped their game up and put a toothless Matlock to the sword. Great to seeEddienotch a brace ,but his botched header from a splendid Lawrie cross could have seen him notch a hat-trick.

Although Eddie got the goals he has. Danny to thank for keeping the visiting defence busy.

Another poor attendance, hopefully a run of Saturday fixtures will see more people turn up to our games.

Well done lads!

Playing three centre halves makes us more solid and we have two full backs who want to get forwards. We still need to strengthen, but we appear to be moving in the right direction as the determination was there for all to see. The remaining five league games this month could yield a decent haul of points and by this stage the league will have taken shape. Stour, Altyand Shaw Lane will pull away and the challenge for us is to be the best of the teams in the middle third of the league.

Talk about a game of 2 halves!

First half we were woeful, panicking all the time, constantly on the back foot and hoofing it anywhere just to get it away. We showed no composure on the ball and players looked like they were releasing it as soon as they got it - like a hot potato. There was one short spell when we pushed them back, but that was all. Sitting behind the dugouts, it was very clear that RS was not a happy bunny!

The hot potato must have got a roasting at half time as we came out (quite a bit after Matlock) for the second half with a different attitude. The midfield held onto the ball, we played a passing game and looked a lot more threatening - it was clear it caught Matlock out.

Both goals for Mbunga were deserved, but the skill he showed to head the ball backwards to avoid scoring a 3rd was classic. His first was well taken, the second a scramble but they all count.

The partnership between Danny and Edi started to look quite good, working off each other well in the second half.

Tom got stuck in which was good to see, he just needs to make his presence felt a bit more both physically and vocally leading the team.

Bails made a few belting challenges and must have been a close runner for MoM.

All round, a far better second half performance and deserved 3 points.

Onwards then to Saturday, lets hope RS gives them the roasting before the start!

Good win and a clean sheet. 3 more deserved points in the bag. Still work to do but enough to silence those who would talk down any sign of progress-for now.

Fantastic win last night, much more togetherness in the team. Battled hard and hopefully the quality will come in time. If the same effort goes in every game like last night there will be few grumbles. Quite often, folks on here moan about the crowd but they were excellent last night, didn't get on the players backs in a tough first half and motivated them towards the end. Well done to everyone involved.

I think we should be calling Mbunga "Edgy" rather than Eddie or Edi. That's what the managers and players were calling him at Ashton and I'd guess you pronounce his name "edge-EE-jah" but am happy to be corrected if someone knows better.

Hear hear, having found time to watch them.

Good to see some of our players who were well below par 9/12 days ago back on form

If I were a Matlock fan or member of management, I think I'd be a tad disappointed with their defending for both goals. But that's fine by me.

Oh, and you've got to have the yellow socks with the grey away kit
