So, that'll be 10 league games to be scheduled for 25/08/18, with the potential to interfere with the Bank Holiday Monday fixtures if replays are required. Not that it should affect us...

All to do with the numbers, of course, as Alvechurch and Bedworth United are in the draw too despite having been promoted to the Southern League Central division.

FA MUPPETRY CUP

FINAL

Shaw Lane v FA League Management Committee

Walk over for FA LMC (Because they can do what they like)

APPEALED BY SHAW LANE.

To be heard by FA LMC.

Rejected on the grounds it was not an unreasonable decision.

Something to do with who had the better PPG ratio which seems to be the prefered way to do things this season.

Points per game average to decide what stage you enter the FA Comps - surely not???

I may have missed this but which round do we enter both competitions and when are the draws?
Oh and I nearly forgot what are the two dates for the first matches?

We enter the FA Cup on the 8th September in the first round qualifying. The preliminary round is on 25th August and the draw that we will be in presumably will be on the Monday 27th, although that is a Bank Holiday with a full day of fixtures, so who knows?

I've not looked at the FA Trophy yet.

It's FA Cup weekend and the BBC have Prestwich Heys v Radcliffe live on their website this time.

http://www.hallmarksecurityleague.com/n ... hp?id=6906

Shelton Payne played for Radcliffe last weekend, although of course, that doesn't mean he'll still be playing for them this weekend...

The 1st qualifying round draw is on Tuesday this time around. I had a feeling it would be too strenuous for the bigwigs at the FA to do it on a Bank Holiday Monday.

We definitely won't get West Auckland as they are already out, as are Boston Town.

I haven't had a look at the rest of the draw yet but we must have a chance of being streamed on the BBC website with a 12:30 kick off.
We are both at the highest level of clubs in this round and it's a local derby. Having shown two local derbies already (Haverhill Rovers v Haverhill Borough and Prestwich v Radcliffe) we must be in with a shout.

Good point Lee, not that one would expect the BBC to display any wisdom....

Could have been better, looking at the clubs in the Midlands group, could have been worse.

The biggest problem may be that we're at home

I have sent this email to the BBC Sport team:

Good Evening,

I have had a look at the FA Cup 1st qualifying round draw and for your 12:30 kick off live stream match for this round I would strongly advise you to choose Hednesford Town v Tamworth.
Both of these have recent(ish) experience of playing at the top level of Non-League football before suffering two relegations over the years.
Both of these are big clubs when compared to most other clubs who are in the FA Cup at this round.
Both of these clubs have experienced playing Premier League opposition in the FA Cup in the past - Hednesford v Middlesbrough in 1996 and Everton v Tamworth in the 2000s.
Both of these clubs are playing at the same level - Step 3 of the NL pyramid - but are in different divisions as Hednesford are in the Northern Premier and Tamworth are in the Southern Premier Central.
Both of these clubs are in the county of Staffordshire, meaning it is a local derby.
This is a huge tie for this level of the competition and it deserves the biggest stage it can get and the national exposure that you can provide.
If you would like to contact me, please do so on the email address provided. I would be delighted if you chose our match for your excellent coverage!

Thanks,
Lee

The BBC page says that Market Drayton v Haughmond last night was "postponed - other" but I don't have time to research the mystery...

I've only had this generic response which everyone who contacts them would get:

From my weekly email from WSC:

Another club who must negotiate with outside parties for the use of their ground are Maltby Main, who will tomorrow welcome the BBC cameras for their FA Cup game against Frickley Athletic. As Mike Bayly notes, "The only thing more Yorkshire than the tie is the reason it was allowed to kick off at 12.30pm."

Main have thanked Maltby Whippet Racing Club who have agreed to cancel their usual meeting at Muglet Lane in order for the game to go ahead
