An interesting appointment as he has a wealth of experience and has been very successful. On the face of it a great appointment, I just hope we can match his ambitions as I can't see him being the type of person who will not settle for 10th place every season. Obviously it comes down to playing budget as I think he can achieve good things for us if the club is able to back him.
A year ago I don't think we would have attracted this kind of applicant so credit to the owners for getting a person of this calibre to our club.
Expectation are high I imagine so it is up to people to back the club and get down to matches when the season starts.

On paper a decent appointment but as usual time will tell.
The places he's been at he must have a decent contact list and probably at a higher level.
Be interesting to see who his backroom staff are as there is no mention of that in the press release.
Best of luck Andy you are coming in at the start of what we all hope will be better times for the club.

Back room staff will be announced in due course. However they are all pretty much set also. We are just going through the formalities to ensure everything works as planned.

We’re delighted on all the comments so far.

And yes who wants a 10th place every season. We want to go as we stated, onwards and upwards.

Also we should state we have agreed a 3 year deal with Andy. Again a statement of intent from ourselves that we want a sustainable and planned approach for our future. As we feel this is the only way we can plan everything for our future success.

Keep your thoughts and comments flooding in here as it’s good to see. As we do wish to deliver what you the fans want.

Ps well done for those who guessed right yesterday. 👍

Excited for the new season, and we hope we can be delivering more great and big announcements over the coming months too, that will further excite us all as fans. We have big plans and high hopes.

We’re doing everything we can to deliver on what we said and more !!!!

Ps. I’ve left two little clues in comments in the forum, (as I always will leave little hints here and there), to changes or plans to come. Enjoy spotting them, as some are more subtle than others 👍👍

Interesting, mixed responses... but then that's Tamworth for you. Magnanimous of you to commiserate with them mate over the termination of the season...

I can’t see the comments and I’m not particularly bothered but the facts speak for themselves.

Tamworth finished 7th, 7th and 9th in National North in his three seasons. He was sacked in February 2018 in his 4th season when they were 12th, yet by the end of the season they’d slipped to 21st and they were relegated.

You two are such a tease.

Graham I think you may have to join the Southern League Central FB Group to read posts.
Many of the replies I've had are quite complimentary.

A pleasing appointment of a young, hungry and well-connected manager with a good recent history of success at a higher level. Absolutely no chance we would attracted this quality of applicant under Steve Price in the last couple of seasons so well done to all involved in getting this sorted; I look forward to Andy building a squad with plenty of time to do so ahead of next season (whenever that will be). His previous tenures at Wrexham and Tamworth have seen him lean heavily towards older, more experienced/established players at both clubs so wonder if he will go down this route again if budget allows. It’ll also be interesting to see whether he has the want/ability to attract step one and two players to play at step three or go for the more established step three players in the area

Fantastic to read everyone’s thoughts regarding Andy’s appointment, we are really excited at having him on board.

As always stay safe everyone and we cannot wait to see everyone back at Keys Park as soon as is safe to do so!

Sounds good and played youth cricket up to u19s at Leicestershire.

Seems we pronounce his name moRELL like the mushroom. Apparently they live in and on the edge of forested areas so he'll be happy at Hednesford.

Matt Panter interview with AM and article from yesterday's Birmingham Mail:

Does that mean the return of this as the run out music if he wants to bring back the good times?
