That may be so but the more people you mix with the greater your chance of getting the virus!

I hadn't realised (some) NPL games had gone ahead until I saw their results on SSN last night.

Same level, same sponsor, how come one rule for them and one for us? Does not compute...

Our club here in Manchester has organised a meeting tonight to discuss how to respond to the policy of suspending non-essential social contact :/

Sadly, due to the ongoing Coronavirus developments we have made the decision to cancel this event until a later date.

Final table if season abandoned and based on points per game ruling.

I'd have thought that, if clubs survive the cashflow crisis, the season will resume when all is cleared... that could mean playing 3/4 games a week, about which the PL clubs are wetting themselves, but we're used to it... that said, we'd need more than the 14 players we had for our last game…

In all honesty mate I don't think this crisis is going to end any time soon.
The only way to complete as I see it will be behind closed doors.

Many clubs with big wage packets and high expenditures that depend on gates and sponsorship to pay the bills are now worrying about how they will survive with no income from matches.

I wonder how this enforced shut-down will actually affect HTFC - given the fact that the gates can never cover the outgoing costs and wages on a match day, let alone the days in between, so Mr Price has had to dip into his pocket each month - so maybe the club will actually benefit as it gives the Groundsman time to work his magic undisturbed .. and also takes the pressure off the new owners as they can concentrate on working behind the scenes to sort things out, without match results also playing on their minds!

Just a thought!

My Facebook friends know I started a thread on people who can't work from home.. just added this...

… and let's just spare a small thought for semi-pro footballers, whose source of secondary income has dried up for the time being - and who aren't multi-millionaires like their Premier League "colleagues"...
