I can see this season only being completed if they split the league into two.

The government has not given any indication as to when the tiers are likely to be relaxed. I think we may be in this situation for some time yet.

The sooner the Southern League void the season the better. It's time for pragmatism to come to the fore.

So we have agreement on not being able to finish the season by May, not sure how going to cope with this unexpected and unbelievable news. Suppose have to wait to see what comprehensive and constructive proposals the FA will announce, now that would be unexpected and unbelievable.

The latest national lockdown has put the tin hat on it.

Time to start planning for next season (if clubs are still around to do so).

Sadly true, but it's been obvious for many weeks. I enjoyed the three home games that, as a newbie, I attended and look forward to season 2021/22.

I can see us starting up again sometime in March on a reduced basis.Maybe play teams once or divide into two groups on a geographical basis.
If clubs want to have a more informal competition what about the county cups played in groups then KOs .Clubs desperately need to generate revenue and all possibilities should be investigated just to write the season off now is utterly irresponsible and damaging to all clubs.

Agreed - if people can attend games then some form of Springtime local competition would be a good idea. Teams in Worcesterhsire did this prior to lockdown and people will be desperate to attend games even if they are semi-competitive.

I did see on another forum - I forget which one - an idea floating around to maybe play the Southern League Cup as well as the county cups as a potential build-up to 2021-2022 to give a competitive edge to the close season?

The experts are all agreeing with you Keith...

But then you're more of an expert on Non-League football than they are anyway...
