Legend. Some wonderful tributes being paid on Radio WM, where we've gone past the "it's very sad" to some tremendous words about the outworking of his Christian faith. Great footballer, but more importantly, great man...

And of course he spoke at our Carol Service a couple of years ago...

Franksies tribute programmme to Cyrille has been beautiful, one of the best things I have heard on the radio for a long time.

God bless you Cyrille, you were a game changer as well as a gentleman.

Quite right too, several clubs including Villa (non-EPL!) had already planned their own tributes/celebrations before this decision was announced, presumably after some nudging...

Jimmy Armfield, 82.

As is widely-known, he might have captained England in 1966 had it not been for injury...

My "bedtime reading" last night, rather than bible or prayer, was to listen to the Thanksgiving Service....

Simply superb, recommended...

Indeed. Very sad. Those of you who know me will have heard my views before - life expectancy is nil, whatever the stats say. Live every day to the full, and make sure you know where you're going when your time comes...

Heck. Usual message applies. None of us knows what's going to happen in the next five minutes. Make sure you've asked Jesus to forgive your sins, so that your eternal destiny is assured. RIP Ray Wilkins...

Absolutely gutted- I was a ball boy at Chelsea in the 70s and Butch was my hero player. The fact we shared the same birthday helped, he was a great bloke and always spoke to us before matches. RIP.

Flippin eck. That ball defies gravity.

Someone should show the goal to the tv pundits before they wax lyrical about some tap-in...
