Your link prompted me to look at forthcoming fixtures... local derbies on a Bank Holiday, what a great idea!

Some expert will no doubt know why they're playing the Number Nine Derby on the Tuesday rather than the Monday... maybe to reduce the likelihood of aggro....??

Liam Francis on the mark for Redditch. We'll assume.... (since trying to find details of their squad on their official website is impossible...)

Aha, the penny dropped as I drove past this morning.... because the opening round of BDCL cricket matches was postponed due to adverse weather (hard to belive now isn't it) they were rescheduled for Bank Holiday Monday. So Stourbridge 2nd X1 take precedence over SFC!

Last night's Number 9 Derby result and (crows)

https://www.evostikleaguesouthern.co.uk/Results

Again highlights the wisdom of playing local derbies over the holiday period, even if they have to be postponed by a day due to cricket - and then to a night when both Wolves and Baggies (Reserves) were in action

It was but remember Coleshill were promoted from the Midland League where their travelling would have been much less.

Halesowen management team leave after defeat to Barwell in midweek

Not really much of a surprise, considering their lowly place in the table relative to the money they were chucking around in the summer

Today's results, a couple of ex-Pitmen on the mark

https://www.evostikleaguesouthern.co.uk/Results

I'd finished my day's duties by 1420 so joined 1733 others at Stourbridge... Kettering the vastly superior side, playing lovely passing football compared with Stour's hoof-ball...

A travesty when Stour took the lead due to a goalkeeping error, but that man Solkhon drew the scores level and a 94th-minute winner saw that justice was done.

Wren McCone and RTB all Ronseal for Stour - Wren spilled one shot from distance but otherwise sound, little or no chance with either goal; Macca solid as ever, yellow card for a blatant body-check on halfway, "one for the team" as they were under the cosh; RTB busy, one good shot well-saved, hooked on about 65 minutes

Table:

https://www.evostikleaguesouthern.co.uk ... 18/2019/P/

Kettering strong favourites for the title now (though one local suggested "yoh'll go bust within two weeks if you go up - we'll lend yer some money...) - the other local teams are still fighting it out for relegation
