The trouble with retro shirts is that they seem to shrink in the wash... ;)

Like my wet-suit I had hanging in the attic - they should carry a health warning .. "Shrinks with age!" :o

End of an era - so much is owed to Scott.

Many thanks to Scott. People / fans like him are the glue that bind clubs together.

Thanks again for your efforts and good luck for the future

Before commenting on the game, many thanks to Scott for all the media work. Living in Manchester means I've been able to follow the club through his hard work, plus of course all the contributions to this forum.

On to today.

Spent the morning getting soaked watching Junior Pitmanchester make his competitive football debut. Was feeling pleased to arrive at Altrincham on time to get our train to Northwich. Train cancelled. Next train got us to Northwich at 14.41. I'd never been to Witton before. It's a long way up the road to the ground and then a long way down the approach road. We made it, running through the rain, two minutes before kick off. To find a queue of around 25 people at the only turnstile. In the pouring rain and gale.

To get chips involved queuing for about 15 minutes. In the pouring rain. I was wetter than the players.

The game was a bit of a non event. The conditions were atrocious. A long cross sailed over Weaver into the net and I think their big centre forward was distracted by the smell of the chips when he sidefooted wide of an open goal. They missed a similar chance in the second half.

We huffed and puffed a bit near the end and Andre Wright showed some nice touches before we grabbed a late equaliser. We thought The Salmon rose highest but seemingly it was the clean shaven Fox who nodded home.

I thought their keeper was a good character and hats off to Jake Weaver who gave his gloves to Junior Pitmanchester at the end. Most of the players made an effort to shake hands with the (once again) excellent away support. But not all... Who will see again next year I wonder?

Some excellent retro shirts on show but a shame that the weather meant they couldn't be shown off a bit more. Maybe something to repeat next year.

hats off to all supporters , players and officials for what can only be described as winter weather, freezing rain and a driving wind. still thawing out
Conditions were poor for a decent game of football but I thought we were the better side and a draw was enough to finish above Strangers ;)

Thank you both, and to all those who have sent messages etc. The time was now right for me to make this hard decision. I look forward to seeing you all on the terraces next season.
