A filthy afternoon weather wise and a confused time on the trains ( thanks to West Midland Trains for that - I use Virgin Trains for a reason on my commute to work), but the day was made very bearable as we played some super stuff in the first half and the 4-0 score at break hardly reflected our dominance.
The second half was more scrappy but the game was done after half an hour.
We looked great coming forwards and Bails scored a top quality goal which could be a contender for goal of the season.
The defence looked unsure at times. Some back passes were underhit (perhaps the surface was to blame) and Wycherley was a little erratic at times with his decision making.
I’ve not been to Sutton since 1982 and other than the playing surface nothing at all appears to have changed.
More prize money in the bank and the draw on Monday to look forward to. A fellow Midlands team at home would be great.
Prior to that we have 3 winnable away games. These could really make our season or leave us playing catch up. 6 points as a minimum is a must.
